Since 1952, the Omega Constellation has been one of the longest running watch lines out there, enjoyed by generations of watch collectors around the world. The line was introduced to showcase OMEGA's craftsmanship through a classic design housing high-grade movements. The Constellation has long fit into the Omega catalog as a capable dress-leaning everyday wearer. The dial is embellished with a star, as a reference to constellations in the sky. And on the caseback, the Observatory Logo is used in homage to Omega’s award winning movements that were evaluated at the Kew Observatory in 1933 and 1936. The Constellation was Omega's answer to what a technically superior dress wristwatch would look like. We tend to lean in the direction of preferring these "pie-pan" dial examples, which have gained the attention of legendary vintage Omega collectors over the years. This particular example has a simply stunning patina to the dial that makes it completely unique.
